Entrance of Man Up! Visitors were handed a questionnaire that asked for pretty detailed info before entering the gallery. It was not mandatory but they were not told that by the student actors. It was surprising what kind of personal info people are willing to give away from their SSN to home addresses.
The General and his men is meant to represent the image of the president of the US giving speeches with the VP and Speaker of the House sitting directly behind. The general has a bullhorn for a mouth and the audio he broadcast is audio I collaged together from the documentary 'Basic Training' by Frederick Wiseman

During a trip to Europe, Tomiko Jones and I collected video and audio of unsuspecting people- we looked at it as gathering surveillance footage. We then projected 7 channels of video using projectors and monitors above and around the bed. The drone kites added to the dream-like setting.

It’s Beginning to Look Alot Like Christmas, with Tomiko Jones, Grunwald Gallery, Indiana University, Bloomington, IN. This was based off of a racist note inside a Xmas card I found in a book in a Thrift Store in Springfield, MO.
