Air Traffic: control  2008

I was given the opportunity to put on an exhibition right before I got back to Tucson after just over 7 months in South America. I sent out a search for a place to house sit, and was offered The Rocket Gallery as a place to live and work. For two weeks straight Tomiko Jones and I worked on the exhibit which was a one-night-only collaborative. The amount of noise in the sky around Tucson consists of police helicopters, military aircraft, commercial airliners, birds, insects. What we wanted to do was re-create that experience which was being covered in the media at the time. Wall painting- 27' x 13', Helicopter (cardboard)- 3.5'h x 8' l x2' w, Video projection- 12' x 10', Salt circle on floor- 6' diameter
