Detail of entryway- Drill Sergeant on right hand side movable wall has a megaphone inserted in his mouth which is broadcasting extracted audio from the Frederick Wiseman documentary from 1971, "Basic Training". Multi-media installation: life size sculptures using recycled and surplus military uniforms that are gessoed with steel armature. Eight life-size soldier sculptures in total. The heads of the soldiers are constructed from felt and recycled clothing. The hands and arms are made from recycled jeans found in the dumpster behind my apartment. The guns they are holding were found in a flea market in the Ozarks and refinished. 40 screenprinted "Target Kites" on fabric, rear projected video of shot footage of a heat lightning storm that looks like bombs on the horizon- 12 x 7 ft., debris from around the campus, audio loop projected within the interior space- 12.3 min. loop and a World Pull-down Map- 5x4 ft.
